what data I collect and why

Contact form (via Squarespace) When you fill in the contact form on this site, I collect your name, email address, and whatever you write in the message field. I use this solely to respond to your enquiry. This data is stored by Squarespace on their servers.

Newsletter signups (via Kit/ConvertKit) When you sign up to my newsletter, Reboot Required, I collect your name and email address. I use this to send you the newsletter and nothing else. Your data is stored and processed by Kit (formerly ConvertKit). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.

Analytics (via Google Analytics) This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — things like which pages are visited and how long people stay. This data is anonymised and aggregated. I don't use it to identify individual visitors. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this information.

how long i keep your data

  • Contact form submissions — kept for up to 12 months, then deleted

  • Newsletter subscriber data — kept for as long as you remain subscribed. When you unsubscribe, your data is removed within 30 days

  • Analytics data — retained in anonymised form for up to 26 months

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data I hold about you

  • Ask me to correct or delete your data

  • Withdraw your consent at any time (e.g. unsubscribe from the newsletter)

  • Lodge a complaint with the ICO (ico.org.uk) if you're not happy with how I've handled your data
